"the sustainability of economic growth"

What do you sustain? How do you sustain? This word is applied differently in each and

every one of our lives. But this concept; this concept, and the application of this concept in our lives is HUGE. Words that relate directly to this include preparation, contemplation, influence, discipline, grit, awareness, and many other words that play into our ability to sustain a behavior, create a new habit (and sustain it long term), and understand what “sustainables” are ideal for us as humans in this one walk in life that we get.

I want to dive into this concept, as it applies to health and wellness. I’ve compiled a list

of a few “necessary sustainables”:

Sustaining healthy habits isn’t easy. It takes hard work, dedication, and consistent self-

talk. I fail at times. There are days that I don’t drink enough water, days I don’t want to move,

and days where I don’t want to eat the rainbow, I want some dang fries and a burger with

bacon, cheese, and BBQ sauce. This is NORMAL.

The NUMBER ONE most important factor in being able to sustain in my opinion, is to get

back up when you fall (fail) and show yourself grace. Often times we are so harsh on ourselves and end up quitting all together so that we don’t continuously disappoint ourselves and/or others. That is such a lie. We see “perfection” online and expect that from ourselves. Well guess what, we all, even the ones who are online looking perfect, fail and fall.

Please note, there is a fine line between grace and complacency. The more you get up

after falling, the less you fall. Why? Because we learn from mistakes and learn to pioneer a

better way to see ourselves succeed. What does this mean? You are sustaining!
